About
Orlando has spent more than 20 years in talent acquisition and leadership. He brings what he’s learned from the hiring side to the stage, to one-on-one coaching, to the CareerTALKS Podcast, and to Career Capital, the career-evidence app he founded.
The goal is the same in each: help people take ownership of their careers.

01
I’ve spent more than 20 years on the hiring side of the table. I’ve read the résumés, sat in the interviews, and worked alongside the leaders making the final call.
Here’s what that taught me. The strongest candidate on paper doesn’t always get the opportunity. It often goes to the person whose work is visible, who already has relationships in place, and who can clearly explain the value they bring.
Leading teams taught me the same lesson from the other side. People grow, and stay, where they feel seen and connected.

02
Too many talented people wait for their careers to be managed for them. They assume good work will speak for itself, and they find out at review time, or after a layoff, that it didn’t.
I don’t think anyone should have to learn how hiring works the hard way. So I share what I know, plainly, from someone who has been inside the process.
That’s the thread through everything I do: writing, speaking, coaching, and CareerTALKS. Relevant, actionable advice that people can put to work right away.

03
Document your work. Prove your value.
Recognizing your own contributions is harder than it sounds. Work moves fast, wins fade from memory, and by review season the details are gone.
So much of my work comes back to one skill: capturing what you’ve done, connecting it to results, and talking about it with confidence. In an interview, on LinkedIn, or in a conversation about your growth.
That’s why I built Career Capital. It turns something I’ve coached for years into a simple habit.
“If you are serious about making progress in your career search, I highly recommend Orlando! … Orlando coaches you on how to grow your network exponentially, gives you insights into viewing your profiles from a recruiter’s perspective, and preps you for success.”
“Orlando is a consummate career coach that is not only a subject matter expert but also a very professional that gives back, learns and cares about you as a person, and follows up for accountability.”
“He’s also assisted in the growth of my professional career, through making me feel as though he worked for me personally, and his role was to see me succeed.”
